SkyToll, a.s. is a Slovak intelligent-transport and electronic-charging company established in 2008. It designs, finances, builds and operates national tolling and electronic-vignette systems, with projects in Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Slovenia and other markets. Since 2022 it has formed part of ITIS Holding, an intelligent-transport group controlled by PPF. SkyToll's core reference is Slovakia's national electronic toll system for vehicles over 3.5 tonnes. The company says it built and commissioned the system in 11 months for a network that later reached 17,611.2 kilometres, including motorways, expressways and lower-category roads. The system combines GNSS positioning, GSM mobile communications and DSRC roadside checks. SkyToll reported 98.99% collection efficiency after the first year. SkyToll and CzechToll also built the Czech Republic's replacement satellite system, which entered service on 1 December 2019 while charging continued through the transition. Other work includes electronic-vignette platforms in Slovakia and Slovenia and pilot or advisory work in markets including Uruguay. This is directly relevant to network-wide RUC design: the SkyToll model charges by road use without constructing a gantry at every point, while retaining roadside enforcement and back-office controls. SkyToll has no current New Zealand RUC contract or approval. Its role in this directory is as a national-scale comparator and potential future system supplier. The Slovak arrangement has also attracted sustained public scrutiny. Slovakia's Supreme Audit Office has criticised the cost, contract extensions and delayed replacement of the original system. Those findings concern government procurement and system governance as well as SkyToll's contract, and should not be reduced to a claim that the underlying GNSS technology failed.

SkyToll operates national heavy-vehicle charging systems that are technically comparable with network-wide distance RUC. It is not a New Zealand provider, but its Slovak and Czech deployments demonstrate GNSS charging across extensive public-road networks.
Slovakia's Supreme Audit Office has repeatedly criticised the economics and governance of the national toll arrangement, including the share of revenue absorbed by system costs, contract extensions and delays in moving to a replacement operator. Its 2026 review said a replacement tender started in 2020 had still not produced an operating successor. SkyToll's original service therefore continued beyond the planned transition.
