RUC Hub

RUC Hub is New Zealand's independent source for Road User Charges news, data, market intelligence, and analysis. Built and operated by RUC on Rails Limited, the platform consolidates RUC-related policy documents, government press releases, select committee submissions, background commentary, technical standards, and data sets into a single searchable resource library of over 1,900 items. The platform also provides explainer content for drivers and fleet operators, a historical timeline of NZ road user charging from 1977, current news coverage, and comprehensive statistics. RUC Hub features a market intelligence section profiling 60+ organisations involved in New Zealand's RUC ecosystem -- from government agencies and eRUC providers to telematics companies, startups, and industry associations. A vehicle fleet statistics dashboard, built from NZTA Motor Vehicle Register data, offers aggregated views of New Zealand's registered fleet by fuel type, make, region, and other dimensions. RUC Hub also includes two integrated public tools: a free RUC Calculator for estimating charges based on vehicle type and distance, and a RUC Checker (formerly Check My RUC) for looking up a vehicle's current RUC status and compliance. These tools were previously standalone products but have been merged into RUC Hub as part of a consolidated platform approach. The platform operates with no ads, no sponsors, and no placements.
