Movyon S.p.A. is the intelligent-transport-systems and mobility-technology company of Autostrade per l'Italia. It evolved from Autostrade Tech, the research and engineering operation established in 2009, and was relaunched under the Movyon name in 2021. The company designs, builds and integrates tolling, traffic, safety and infrastructure-management technology for road operators, public authorities and mobility-service providers. Its tolling portfolio covers the full transaction chain: lane and gantry equipment, vehicle detection and classification, automatic number-plate recognition, DSRC and GNSS on-board units, lane controllers, central platforms, monitoring and diagnostics. Movyon has no identified New Zealand RUC approval or contract. Its relevance is as a mature international system vendor whose technology covers the infrastructure, device and central-processing layers that a national or regional distance-charging scheme could require.
