Overview

Bonnet Limited is a Mount Maunganui-based vehicle compliance and fleet management software company incorporated in January 2019. Co-founders Steph Kennard and Dave Webb launched the Bonnet app in March 2023. Users can retrieve WOF, COF, registration and Road User Charges information linked to NZTA records, receive compliance and servicing reminders, and manage vehicles through mobile and web applications. Bonnet reports that its platform manages more than 75,000 vehicles. Bonnet provides automatic RUC and registration purchasing for individual users and fleets. Customers can supply odometer readings through the app or use connected-vehicle or plug-in tracking options. Its fleet offering also includes live GPS locations, historical tracks, geofencing, driver and vehicle inspection checklists, servicing records and machinery tracking. In March 2026, Bonnet launched OEM Connect, which obtains authorised odometer, location and other available data from supported Tesla, BYD and Mercedes-Benz manufacturer systems without an aftermarket tracking device. Bonnet completed a PledgeMe equity crowdfunding campaign in November 2024, reporting more than NZ$160,000 raised from 99 investors. Its register includes founder, angel-network, venture-capital and nominee shareholders, with Stephanie Kennard retaining 58.76% of the shares recorded in May 2026. The company has also prepared a UK version of its compliance platform, although a completed full commercial launch could not be verified.
