Bonnet Limited is a Mount Maunganui-based vehicle compliance and fleet management software company incorporated in January 2019. Co-founders Steph Kennard and Dave Webb launched the Bonnet app in March 2023. Users can retrieve WOF, COF, registration and Road User Charges information linked to NZTA records, receive compliance and servicing reminders, and manage vehicles through mobile and web applications. Bonnet reports that its platform manages more than 75,000 vehicles. Bonnet provides automatic RUC and registration purchasing for individual users and fleets. Customers can supply odometer readings through the app or use connected-vehicle or plug-in tracking options. Its fleet offering also includes live GPS locations, historical tracks, geofencing, driver and vehicle inspection checklists, servicing records and machinery tracking. In March 2026, Bonnet launched OEM Connect, which obtains authorised odometer, location and other available data from supported Tesla, BYD and Mercedes-Benz manufacturer systems without an aftermarket tracking device. Bonnet completed a PledgeMe equity crowdfunding campaign in November 2024, reporting more than NZ$160,000 raised from 99 investors. Its register includes founder, angel-network, venture-capital and nominee shareholders, with Stephanie Kennard retaining 58.76% of the shares recorded in May 2026. The company has also prepared a UK version of its compliance platform, although a completed full commercial launch could not be verified.

Subscription fleet-management platform providing centralised WOF, COF, registration, RUC and servicing information. Current functions include driver and vehicle linking, machinery records, inspection checklists, API and webhook access, and optional GPS tracking with live locations, historical tracks, geofencing, odometer readings and reports.
Automatic RUC-purchasing service. Fleet users can select 1,000 km, 5,000 km or 10,000 km increments. Bonnet obtains distance information from submitted odometer readings or compatible connected tracking and purchases further RUC when required. Bonnet currently advertises NZTA licence prices plus a $6 service fee and payment-processing charges.
Automatic vehicle-registration renewal service. Bonnet advertises six- or twelve-month renewal options for public users and fleet customers.

Connected-vehicle option launched in March 2026 for supported Tesla, BYD and Mercedes-Benz vehicles. With authorisation, Bonnet retrieves available odometer, location and other data from manufacturer cloud systems without an aftermarket device. The data can support fleet tracking, servicing reminders and RUC management.
Co-founder Steph Kennard, while working at Fiat Chrysler, identified the lack of a comprehensive vehicle compliance management tool, sparking the idea for Bonnet.

Surpassed 55,000 vehicles by early 2024, becoming NZ's third-largest vehicle software platform. Experienced surge in EV owner sign-ups when light EV RUC exemption ended in April 2024. Launched 'set and forget' auto-purchase for RUC and registration. Web portal launched in February with 68% beta-to-paid conversion. PledgeMe crowdfunding raised NZ$161,903 from 99 investors at $4M pre-money valuation in October. Secured investment from Enterprise Angels (EA Fund 4). Listed preference shares on Catalist (NZ's growth stock exchange) at NZ$0.825/share. Announced UK expansion plans with bonnetapp.co.uk and DVLA data access.
Continued growth to over 75,000 vehicles (5,041 paying fleet vehicles). Launched GPS fleet tracking features including daily trip logs, geofencing, and live vehicle locations. Introduced tiered premium plans for personal and fleet users. Achieved 501% revenue growth since 2024 raise, reaching approximately $360K ARR. In December 2025, announced Auto RUC and Auto Rego - a New Zealand first enabling all vehicle owners to 'set and forget' both RUC and registration payments with automatic odometer tracking via a $190+GST plug-in device.
On 21 March, Bonnet announced OEM Connect for supported Tesla, BYD and Mercedes-Benz vehicles. With the vehicle owner's or operator's authorisation, the service retrieves available odometer, location and other vehicle data from manufacturer systems, providing an alternative to aftermarket tracking hardware and supporting automated RUC monitoring.
